On August 24th, 2025, I flew overnight to Iceland. Why? I don’y know just yet. Through connections, I found a place to stay for a while. For how long exactly? Don’t know that either. 2024 was a year where I sat around a lot. Much more than I wanted to. While I still haven’t come up with an exact solution for how to do more with myself, a good place to start is trying.

So, here I am, in a foreign country with my bicycle, some clothes, and my camping gear. Initially I was going to bike pack through Fjallabak nature reserve for a week… but, of course, Iceland’s severe and volatile weather brought on 50 mph winds and flooding to that area. But, adventures don’t happen when things go to plan, they happen when things go wrong.

So, I explored Reykjavik

and did some incredible hikes.

Not sure if this at all seems badass or epic or a dream come true but everyday has been scary. Like everyone, I am just a kid, now pretending that I know what I’m doing. I’m not this kind of person that is unattached and fearless. I get scared, I love and miss deeply, I hate risks, I am sentimental and nostalgic, and yet I find myself again (or have put myself again) in a situation where my feet don’t quite touch the bottom (this is no real surprise considering I am 5’ 8” on a good day). But, what I am trying to find here is still a mystery to me.
